Henry De Bromhead’s Desert Orchid Chase winner Special Tiara was this afternoon introduced at 20/1 for the Queen Mother Champion Chase next March.
The 5/1 shot produced a stunning display of jumping to land the Grade 2 prize with Alan King’s Balder Succes, now quoted at 16/1 for Cheltenham glory, 2 ¼ lengths behind in second.
Over in Ireland, Willie Mullins’ Twinlight caused a 16/1 upset in the Grade 1 Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase and he has also been introduced at 20/1 for the two-mile showpiece.
Uxizandre, 2/1 favourite, disappointed back in 8th and has been pushed out to a top-priced 20/1.
Betway’s Alan Alger said: “The Betway Champion Chase market hasn’t been shaken this afternoon and we’re happy to lay 20/1 about both trial winners.”
